If you are thinking of undertaking a room makeover then you might be worried about the costs. Especially if you are starting from scratch! Been there, done that! So I have come up with 5 proven ways to achieve a beautiful room makeover on a budget!

1. BUDGET REALISTICALLY
There are different ways to budget for things. You can have a very specific number you have saved for and want to stick to.
Or you might just want to stay within reasonable price tags, as long as you feel comfortable with them, and can afford them.
Whatever your style of budgeting make sure that you are REALISTIC about it.
You can write down a list of items and what you want to spend on each one. But if you are not reasonable with those prices then you might be shocked when you quickly start going over budget!
So make sure to familiarize yourself with the cost of the items you are thinking of buying.
2. PRIORITIZE
Prioritizing certain pieces will help you get what you want. Splurging a little on one item while finding steals on other items is a great way to plan a room makeover on a budget.
For example, let’s say you are transforming your dining room. If you know you want to go big on a dining table, then the table should be your priority on the budget. Meaning that you could go a little crazy and spend more than you normally would on a dining table.
You just have to compromise by spending less on the chairs, rug, etc. You could go to thrift stores, yard sales, or even Facebook Marketplace!
Not much of a bargain hunter? No worries! Popular department stores such as Ikea or Walmart can help you stay within your budget.
3. SHOP AROUND
Shopping around is a great way to find the best deals!
If you have your eye on a gorgeous headboard but it costs over $1000 then you might want to consider shopping around!
You would be surprised what great dupes are to be found out there!
Especially if it’s something that is trending!
And you don’t have to spend hours in the stores to do this. I often shop around online to find the best bank for my buck!
PRO TIP: If you find something you love online it’s still a good idea to go see it in stores if possible before purchasing whenever possible!
4. DON’T BUY ACCESSORIES FIRST!
As exciting as it might be to go shopping for your new room makeover. Don’t get carried away with all the beautiful decorative accents!
It is very tempting to start buying lamps, trays, and candle holders for your living room makeover.
But buying your furniture FIRST will save you money in the long run!

So shop wisely! Buy your big pieces first and accessorize later!

To do a room makeover on a budget you need to stay within your budget! Now you might think this is a no-brainer.
But it’s something you need to keep in mind constantly when shopping for your room makeover.
There’s no point in making a budget if you are going to break it at the first sight of a luxurious leather sofa!
Shop within your means.
Now that does NOT mean you have to compromise a beautifully decorated room! You CAN have a gorgeous room no matter what your budget is.
