1. STORAGE BOXES & BASKETS
First and foremost, storage boxes and baskets are a great way to organize all of your miscellaneous items. I found a lot of great stuff from the Storage Works store at Amazon. Their products are very affordable and they come in a variety of shapes and sizes to accommodate all your storage needs. Not to mention, they are SO CUTE!
Storage Boxes
I purchased these storage boxes with the lids in the color “mixing of gray, brown, and beige” to go on the lower top shelf above my clothes. And I chose the trapezoid storage boxes to go on the very top shelf. These do not have a lid but since I am storing them so high, you won’t be able to see what’s inside.
What I love about them is their unique shape! It’s a simple way to change things up while keeping everything consistent. I got those in the color “mixing of beige, white and ivory.”
All sorts of items can be stored in these storage boxes. Scarves, mittens, hats, blankets, seasonal clothing, purses, clutches, etc.
Larger storage containers such as this one are great for pillows, and comforters.
Decorative Boxes
In addition, the shelves above my closet dresser also contain decorative storage boxes and natural wood boxes from Michaels. These are great for jewelry, accessories, albums, keepsakes, etc. Keep scrolling to find links to all of the decorative boxes shown in the picture below.

Baskets
Alternatively, baskets are another option for storage, especially if you have cubbies in your closet. I found these baskets at Target. They were the perfect size for the cubby spaces under my bench.
Note: I got this bench cushion which was cut to size and upholstered to fit this space. The throw pillow from TJ Maxx.
2. DRESSER DRAWER ORGANIZERS
A closet dresser is also a great place to store all kinds of items. If you are in the process of designing your master closet, make sure to include a closet dresser! What’s more, you can use drawer organizers and dividers to keep everything nice and neat.
Drawer Organizers and Dividers
You can also find drawer organizers for your jewelry, like these stackable jewelry trays. They fit perfectly in my top dresser drawer. Plus, they are stackable so there is double the jewelry storage space underneath! I got the R1s4 G4 (5 in 1) – Grey.
Speaking of dressers, adding pretty yet useful organizers on top of your closet dresser is also a great idea! I added a necklace holder stand at the top of my dresser. And I even included this men’s valet drawer for all of my husband’s personal items.
It has large compartments which are great for watches, sunglasses, wallets, and phones. In addition, the smaller compartments in the bottom drawer are great for jewelry, pocket knives, cuff links, shoe horns, etc. It also has an open concave compartment which is great for keys or anything you want to quickly grab and go.
3. CLOSET ORGANIZERS
Whatever your storage needs are, there is an organizer for it. Closet organizers come in all shapes and sizes and can hold a variety of items. Such as shoes, purses, jewelry, and more!
This hanging shoe organizer is great for storing all of my flip-flops, which I didn’t want displayed on my shoe shelves. It was the perfect size for this small and narrow space in my closet. Plus it added use to an otherwise, useless space.
Popular closet organizers
As you can see, there are many ways to store and organize your closet to keep it looking neat and clutter-free. From using storage boxes and baskets to adding organizers to your dresser drawers to using actual closet organizers.
The point is to store items away in areas where they are accessible and well organized but out of sight. This way your closet will stay looking beautiful and welcoming. Not to mention, having a place for everything will make things so much easier to find!
