I love a neutral Christmas. But this year I was in the mood for Traditional Christmas decor with pops of red and green. And I gotta say, I love it so much I might keep it going next year!

Every year I pick a Christmas theme and try to keep it consistent throughout my home for a cohesive look. This year I even decorated the bedrooms so it was important to me that it all came together in the end.

Traditional Christmas Decor Home Tour

I will walk you through each room for a full tour of my 2023 Traditional Christmas home. So without further ado, let’s jump right in!

NOTE: You can find links to all my decor or similar items at the end of this blog post.

Traditional Christmas Front Door

I don’t have a big front porch so I like to keep it minimal here for the most part. I used the same wreaths and garlands I’ve used in previous years but I did spice them up a bit by adding some eucalyptus stems, berries, and red wine ribbon.

Changing up your Christmas decor like I did (from neutral to traditional colors) doesn’t mean you have to buy everything new! Work with what you have and add a couple of little touches to make it new!

NOTE: Make sure to check out my Christmas Decor tips that show you how to shop intentionally and save money on your Christmas decorations.

I also added the wine ribbon to my lanterns and I love how cute they are now! They look like little Christmas presents!

I am a firm believer in consistency throughout the home, especially for the holidays, so you will see this same wine ribbon throughout my home!

Traditional Christmas Entryway

When I saw this Santa framed art at Walmart I knew I had to go with traditional colors this year. It is probably my favorite decorative piece in the entire house. It was the spark of inspiration that I needed to make the magic happen! How fitting that it was Santa?!

And I found the perfect spot for in on my entryway ledge. The LED burgundy candles next to it are battery-powered and come with a remote for easy use!

Every Christmas entryway deserves a little Christmas tree. I like to put mine in a basket with a blanket around it for a cozy touch.

Christmas Rocking Horse Decor

I wanted to create a nostalgic/vintage feeling with my traditional Christmas decor. This rocking horse was the perfect element to do just that!

And this “Letters to Santa” mailbox was a perfect addition to my entryway as well! My boys immediately made their Christmas cards and put them in the mailbox!

The plaid Christmas throw blanket is a great piece to bring together the reds and greens in this space.

Traditional Christmas Living Room

I had my husband build this fireplace solely for the purpose of having a mantel that I can decorate for Christmas and hang my stockings on!

Traditional Christmas Mantel Decor

This year’s Christmas mantel is very similar to last year’s. I love the way that it swags to one side.

To create this look I used two cedar garlands, and two eucalyptus/olive garlands. I did get extra cedar stems this year to fill in some empty areas. Finally, I added that same red wine ribbon to make a bow over my bells.

Next, I added some red throw pillows for some pops of red on the sectional. I love these because they are the perfect red. Not too bright and not too burgundy. And the faux fur blanket is so elegant, not to mention so comfy when huddled together and watching Christmas movies.

Traditional Christmas Living Room Decor

The coffee table is also one of my favorites this year. I love the big pinecones. This year I added Christmas stems underneath them for a more layered look. The red velvet tree and the gold bell create the perfect traditional Christmas look I wanted.

Traditional Christmas Tree

Everyone knows a traditional Christmas tree needs to have red and gold ornaments! This year I did go and get all new ornaments for my tree and I LOVE them so much! The golds are bright yet deep. And the reds are more of a wine red, even though they are called burgundy.

Traditional Christmas Tree - Red and Gold

I also mixed in some of my DIY mercury glass ornaments, you can find the full tutorial for that HERE!

But my favorite part of the tree this year is the floating candle ornaments. These add such a vintage/old-world Christmas feel to my tree! I will be using them EVERY Christmas!

Red and Gold Christmas Tree Decor

You might have noticed that apart from my traditional Christmas theme this year, I have a subtle Noel theme going on as well. There’s the Noel throw pillow on the sectional and these Noel ornaments as well.

Christmas Presents

I even got Noel wrapping paper with rocking horses on them that go perfectly with the rocking horse in the entryway! I love it when it all comes together like that!

Traditional Christmas Kitchen

You can check out my Neutral Christmas Kitchen Decor from last year HERE. As you can see I used a lot of the same decor, such as the wreaths on the cabinets and the DIY swags on the chairs. But this year I added the wine ribbon instead of the khaki ribbon they had last year.

2023 Traditional Christmas Kitchen

I did add the Merry Christmas sign and the popular Afloral swag on the range hood which I found on the Marshalls website for only $29.99, that’s almost half the price! Seriously, you should follow me on LTK for amazing deals like this and more! I ended up adding the same red ribbon to the swag. I just made a bow and hooked it around using floral wire.

Christmas Digital Art

The sleigh digital art print on the counter is from ETSY and I paid less than $2 for it! I do recommend printing it on cardstock paper. I simply placed the print right over a gold-framed art piece that I already had.

Christmas Coffee Bar Touches

For my coffee bar, I just added some Christmas mugs, a couple of ceramic trees, and a candle for a little pop of red.

I filled my kitchen tray with Christmas trees and one house. Again, very similar to last year, but this year I added the red and green trees.

And I gotta say, these swags look even better this year with the red ribbon!!!

Kids Room Christmas Decor

I normally add a few Christmas touches to the boys’ room but this year I went all out with bedding, pillows, art, etc.

DIY Paper Christmas Village

This is a DIY paper Christmas Village I made from ETSY templates. I did enlarge the house templates on Canva to make them bigger. Then I cut them out, including windows and doors, with an exacto knife. I put votive LED candles in them for a magical Christmas glow.

The brown paper trees are from Walmart. As well as the canvas Christmas art. I got it a few years back actually! It went perfectly in this space!

Master Bedroom Christmas Decor

For my master bedroom, I steered clear of any red decor. As much as I love a Traditional Christmas, too much red tends to overwhelm me. So I stuck with beautiful dark green colors in here and I love the level of elegance it brought into this room.

Pinecones in Dough Bowl

I added just a few Christmas touches on my dresser such as the cedar stems in my vase and the pinecones on the dough bowl. These are the same stems I used underneath my coffee table pinecones. So not only am I keeping things consistent but I saved money by using the extras I had!

Dining Room Christmas Tablescape

For my dining table, I just fill my vase with Christmas stems. But let me tell you, THESE CHRISTMAS STEMS are my FAVORITE! EVER! PERIOD!

Simple Christmas Dining Room

And the best part is that they only cost me $5 each! I really hope the Threshold line at Target brings them back next year because they are PERFECTION.

For an extra magical Christmas glow add some string lights to your Christmas stems!

Christmas Pine Stems With String Lights

I will be hosting a Christmas Eve dinner this year so I set up my Christmas Tablescape in advance to share it with you!

First I put all the basics, tablecloth, runner, chargers, plates, silverware, etc. Then I added the same Christmas stems I had in my vase and created a garland of sorts.

I tied artificial pine to red and green striped napkins with some twine. Finally, I added LED burgundy taper candles, a few glass Christmas trees, and string lights. Easy, affordable, and beautiful!
