How To Create A Black White And Gold Halloween Tablescape On A Budget
A beautiful Halloween tablescape doesn’t have to be expensive. So if you are having a Halloween party this year, or you are just having some friends over and want to create an elegant Halloween tablescape on a budget, then keep on reading!
I am a firm believer in budgeting and using what you already have!
So before you go out and buy anything, look through your own Halloween inventory or even your regular household inventory! You may already have most of these items!
Now let’s get right into this tutorial!
1. Create A Blank Canvas
To make everything on our Halloween tablescape pop a little we need a blank canvas, aka a white tablecloth.
A white linen tablecloth can be simple yet very elegant as well. This will also add to our black, white, and gold color scheme.
2. Add A Spooky Runner
A table runner is a must for any tablescape you ever do. It anchors down the centerpiece and creates visual separation for your table decor.
For this Halloween tablescape, you can add a simple black runner, spooky fabric, or a spider web runner. These are very popular in stores during the Halloween season and they are very affordable.
3. Add A Focal Point
Add a focal point, in other words, a centerpiece to your table.
This doesn’t have to be anything elaborate or fancy. And it doesn’t even have to be one large piece in the middle of the table.
Check out my Dollar Tree Thanksgiving Tablescape to see how I used two small vases at each end of the table as my focal point, instead of your typical large centerpiece.
Get creative!
In this case, I got a couple of books from Dollar Tree (I just removed their covers) and placed a large black pumpkin candle on top!
4. Create An Ambiance
A tablescape done right needs ambiance. And how do you create any ambiance in general? With lighting!
Add some taper candles to your Halloween tablescape to create the perfect mood!
I prefer to use LED taper candles because it’s just so much safer! Especially on a table where people are eating and things can tip over easily.
I found these black LED candles on Amazon and they give a very realistic candle effect!
Any taper candle holder will do but to go with our black white and gold theme I chose these gold candle holders.
5. Dress Up Your Plates
An essential part of a pretty tablescape is dressing up the plates with charger plates underneath.
I got these gold charger plates from Dollar Tree! Super affordable and beautiful!
6. Add Halloween Touches
Already we have a Halloween vibe going on in this tablescape with the black candles and spider web runner. But you can also add some Halloween touches to your plate setting.
Place Halloween napkins and small pumpkins on your plates to complete the Halloween tablescape.
And there you have it! A super simple yet elegant Halloween tablescape.
If you want to get really fancy you can get cool Halloween wine glasses like these. Or you can make your own Halloween glasses with these rub-on-transfers from Dollar Tree!
