5 Neutral Christmas Kitchen Decor Ideas That Won’t Overwhelm You!
This is my first year decorating our new kitchen for Christmas! I wanted to create a subtle Christmas look with lots of natural elements. I am super excited to share some of my neutral Christmas kitchen decor ideas with you!
Once thing I made sure to do when decorating this space was to keep it simple while still adding touches of Christmas throughout. It’s just not convenient to have a bunch of extra stuff in a place that already tends to get cluttered with food and dishes!
So let’s get right into these 5 neutral (and simple) Christmas kitchen decor ideas!
1. DIY Christmas Chair Swags
I found these sprigs at Target and just knew that I had to transform them into swags for my counter stools!
Above you will see all the supplies I used to make this DIY Christmas chair swag.
This sprigs bundle brings 4 pieces. So one box will make 2 swags.
First, I hot glued two swags together at the stems. Then I wrapped twine around the stems, making sure to leave a few inches at each end so that I could use that to tie around my X Back counter stools.
I wrapped the 1 1/2 Inch ivory satin ribbon around it to hide the twine. Next, I got a gold bell from a bell garland that I found at Target and tied it to the center of my swags.
Finally, I made 2 bows (with 7/8″ ivory satin ribbon and 3/8″ khaki velvet ribbon) and hot glued them to the center of the swag one at a time.
These swags are a perfect touch of neutral Christmas kitchen decor. They look great on X-back chairs but will look great on any chair really!
NOTE: If you have fabric chairs you can use a pin to secure them onto the fabric.
2. Mini Wreaths On Kitchen Cabinets
Use mini wreaths to add some Christmas charm to your kitchen cabinets.
I found these mini cedar wreaths at Hobby Lobby for an amazing deal! Unfortunately, they are currently sold out but I have linked similar ones below.
I used the same 7/8″ ivory satin ribbon to hang these wreaths on the kitchen cabinets. I simply tied them around a command hook that I placed upside down on the inside of the cabinet.
Adding bows to the wreaths is up to you. I could have added bows to these wreaths to match the swags on the chairs. But I just love the simplicity of it like this.
Either way, it will be beautiful! But my main motto with home decor is LESS IS MORE.
And to not feel overwhelmed by all the Christmas decor, I like to keep it simple. Simple can be quite beautiful and elegant in my opinion!
3. Christmas Coffee Station Decor
Adding a couple of Christmas touches to your coffee station is easy! Just incorporate some Christmas mugs and a few decorative items!
My Christmas theme this year is Christmas trees! So I added a couple of wood and ceramic Christmas trees to balance out the rest of the greenery that I already have. And keep the neutral Christmas kitchen decor look.
NOTE: Make sure to check out my Top 5 Christmas Decor Tips which talks about the importance of a Christmas theme and much more!
You can add a hot cocoa station to your coffee station as well with some candy canes and chocolates. But I am 100% a coffee lover. I will pass on the hot cocoa and go stright for my latte EVERY DAY! So for my coffee station, this is all I need!
I did add a picture frame with one of my Christmas printables for an added Christmas touch!
4. Christmas Kitchen Tray Decor
A kitchen tray for seasonal decor is a must!
It will beautifully display a vase of fresh Spring flowers or a mini Christmas village!
Tray decor is one of my favorite ways to decorate throughout the home. It catches your eye and anchors the decorative display.
Again I kept it neutral and simple, with just a few wooden and ceramic Christmas trees and one light-up Christmas house. The little trees were found at the Dollar Spot at Target!
5. Christmas Kitchen Condiment Decor
If you have a tray for your most used kitchen condiments, you can also add a few Christmas touches to it!
And if you don’t have a condiment tray, you really should consider getting one!
It’s great for condiments you use every day, such as olive oil and vinegar, salt and pepper, etc.
I simply added a few more Christmas trees and a Christmas candle to this tray to keep the flow of Christmas decor throughout my kitchen.
I even had a little room on my dish tray for a couple more wooden trees!
And that’s all it takes sometimes! A few simple touches. You don’t need to overdo it. In fact, I suggest you don’t!
You will thoroughly enjoy your Christmas decor throughout the season if you keep things simple and neutral!
